St Kitts and Nevis transportation

Car Rental
If you prefer to take yourself around our beautiful island, you will have no problem getting a vehicle to rent. You will have a wide range of vehicles ranging from luxury cars and vans to motor bikes. Rented vehicles are available from several rental outlets listed below. Driving in St. Kitts is on the left side and requires you to have a driver’s permit. This permit can be obtained from the Traffic Department for EC$64.80. Remember to keep on the left side of the road and drive safely.

Taxi
Local transportation is available via mini-bus or taxis. Taxi rates are published below, however fares are also available from the airport dispatchers, the Circus in Basseterre and from your hotel front desk. Note that there is a 50% surcharge between 10 PM and 6 AM.

ST. KITTS -NEVIS FERRY
The MV Caribe Queen is a government owned and operated ferry service between St. Kitts and Nevis. The passage between Basseterre and Charlestown takes about 45 minutes and provides beautiful views of both islands. Also crossing between the two islands is the privately owned, government operated MV Sea Hustler and Carib Breeze. Information on all ferries is available at 869-466-INFO (4636).
