As
many of Ochi's restaurants aim to please the
foreign palate, Italian, Indian, Chinese and
American fare is available in addition to the
Jamaican staples, and there are a couple of
excellent vegetarian options. There are several
patty shops around town, including a branch
of Juicy Beef by the clocktower, as well as
numerous fast-food joints. For Jamaican food
on the hop, head to the excellent Island Grill
at 12 Main Street (opposite Sandcastles hotel),
for jerk chicken and fish. Jerk stands also
set up around the clocktower in the evenings
Because
nearly all the major hotels in Ocho Rios have
gone all-inclusive, smaller, independent restaurants
are struggling to survive
